Use your notes from the interview, and then write up a formal summary (suggested length: 1 pages).

Micro level , i would counsel Mr. K on discrimation and stereotypes affect mental health. I would develop a support group or therapy to help with emotional challenges. Encourage him to take free personal finance classes to help build his company successful. I would educate him on ways to build credit scores so that he can have a space to create his vision.

Macro level as a social worker, i would advocate against discrimination and stereopy in the community and have a policy in community that can act against discrimination community. I would have counseling on the community site. I would create a policy where the government helps upcoming business for grants. Create an education class financially and how to build your credit score in the community

Strengths and Challenges: Identify some strengths and challenges faced by this individual and whether they are “typical” for a young adult. (1 page).

One of his greatest strengths is that he can create idea making to live.. Mr. K makes his own draws from scratch where he is drawing jackets or pants. He gets his own fabric and sews. Motivation is another strength that he is working hard and he sees the vision for his company. He has multiple tasks that he can draw scratch while taking orders at the same time. Lastly, is passion, he loves his creating, drawing and sewing. He is a very humble young adult, loves god, family and best friend/business partner.

Some of the challenges Mr. K faces are stereotypes from the community on who he dresses. Few of his family members don’t approve of his career because they believe that men shouldn’t be fashion desired. They believe it is a women’s career path. This old tradition in Africa that men should go to medical school or become an engineer was the ideal man. Mr. K is a young black who loves to change his hair color blond and people just give him a negative look and some time they will whisper. And alway he has a piercing on his face which he said makes another level of negative towards him. Some of the boys in his community make fun of how he looks which he fought a lot in his high school years.Even though Mr K has confidence in his clothing line business, those boys in the community say you will never like Kanye West or any famous designer.

Applying Human Development Theory: Identify and apply one of the 4 key human development theories (Freud, Erikson, Learning Theories, or Fowler’s Theory) in understanding one of the challenges faced by this young adult. Explain how this theory could help you in working with a client like this individual. (0.5 – 1 page).

One of the human development theory for this case is intimacy vs. isolation stage. It is at this early adulthood stage that the individual must also leave the nest of the family and those familiar relationships to begin to look outwards to peer related relationships while still maintaining a connection to the original familial ties. It is an extension of adolescence and the need to find a sense of self amongst friends and outside of the family. Intimacy is therefore not only related to sexual and romantic intimacy (Erikson, 1950/1963) but to the forging of a close and special tie to others and a deep commitment and care to their well‐being (Erikson, 1950/1963). Mr. K finds friendship and intimacy in his best friend and business partner. He is committed to his clothing line and trusting his best friend to help him make decisions. He is financially independent from his parents in the company. He fully trusts his partner and shares some of the financial burner. He is warm around his family and friends. And also commit to finish college. He is an outgoing young adult. Sometime he is ostracism from his ethopean community because of the discrimination of how he dress and the color of his head.

Professional Reflection: Reflect and analyze what you could improve upon in the future regarding conducting an interview and classifying the information gathered from the interview. (1-2 paragraphs)

Looking back, i wish I had ask Mr. K more time because this young man could write a book. How comfortable he was answering the question made and i was the nervous one. To improve for my next interview i breath in and out and practice my questions head of time. And alway focus because the young adult life was so interesting that i forgot my next question. As a young adult I thought I was outgoing but this young adult changed my perception. Even though he was getting a back lashes from his friends, he took the negative and turned to positive which I admired.
