Following are the problems as faced by Uber in Sydney’s development:

·         The increase in fare of Uber amounted for a considerable amount of protest in Sydney as the passenger found it irrational to hike in the Taxi fare to that limit such that it resulted in many case, Uber refunding the customers and offering them free rides if they customers are not residing at the Sydney’s central business district.

·         Riders often book the Uber cab from the application and then eventually shift to the city taxis thereby posing a threat of loss to the business.

·         Often the Uber drivers are themselves not aware of where to drop the riders when the riders book an Uber through the Application. It is only once they arrive at the stop to pick up the riders that they are made to know the destination therefore causing more inconvenience to the drivers.

·         At times, the drivers are so much dependent upon the GPS that they fail to regard any shortcuts unless otherwise specified by the riders.

·         However such shortcut roads may be helpful to drop the riders faster but it ends up giving complexities in the fare calculation process.

·         The Uber drivers show signs of unprofessionalism as well. Often when the drivers surrender to locate the desired destination of the riders, they simply drop them on the main roads leaving them in a fix to head forth all by themselves.

·         The designing of the system is not that efficient that it regards to the ignorance of the drivers to certain destinations and accordingly discourage them in accepting the riders to such places.

·         There is no diversity in terms of gender when it comes to employing more women drivers in the Company.

·         The senior leaders lack accountability such that it discourages the employees to propose new ideas and suggestions for betterment of the organization.

·         The grievances are handled inefficiently by Uber with no ‘Zero tolerance policy’ in place.

·         It takes no serious actions against the drivers who consume drugs or alcohol at the time of work

The five questions that one needs to ask to Uber are:

·         Why are the fares increased once the taxi rates are de-regularized in Sydney?

·         Why are no serious actions taken against the drivers when any untoward incident is reported to Uber?

·         What holds them back from diversifying the drivers in terms of adding more women drivers to the system?

·         Why do they employ drivers who do not have destination knowledge and are slaves of the GPS to ride the passengers to their destinations?
