DIRECTIONS: Using APA format, type a thoughtful analysis paper addressing the following questions. Include a cover page and reference page. In addition to the video use a minimum 3 other references (your textbook can be used). Cite your source in the body of the paper. Use proper grammar, paragraph format, spelling, and use header topics throughout the paper. To adequately cover the topic, strive for a minimum 1000-1,500 words which is approximately 2-3 pages not including cover and reference page. Use font size 12, New Times Roman. Double-space throughout the paper. An introductory and conclusion is much appreciated. The introduction leads into your analysis (Set the stage, name of character/s, the setting, the decade in time, the situation the characters find themselves in, etc.) and the conclusion at the end ties everything together.
1. Identify and describe the etiology/pathology of the main character/s as related to your concept and exemplar/s. Compare and contrast the signs and symptoms from your textbook to what you observed. (1 point)
2. How were the main character/s assessed and diagnosed (any assessment tools used?). Any diagnostic or lab tests? Identify the best evidence-based practice for the treatment of the character/s disorder. (1 point)
3. Was the setting of the environment (such as in-patient versus outpatient)? Or was treatment given at all? Identify safety issues. What might you have done differently to keep the environment safe (quality improvement)? (1 point)
4. Were any pharmacological therapies used? If so what? Was this appropriate for the character? Explain your rationales and what might be considered. What is the role and responsibilities of the nurse regarding pharmacological therapies? (1 point)
5. Were any behavior modifications therapies used or other treatment modalities and describe how it was implemented. What would be the role of the nurse as part of an interdisciplinary team in these therapies (communication, clinical decision making)? (1 point)
6. What does holistic care mean in the mental healthcare environment and how could that be applied in the situation the character/s found themselves (teamwork/collaboration).
