MEMO
This assignment, you will create a memo of introduction. The purpose of this assignment is to introduce yourself to the members of your collaborative group – the students you will work with next week to complete your collaborative project. Consider the group as an organization and yourself as a new member in a highly visible position. Your task is to introduce yourself and include your goals for the project. You want to make a great first impression, and you want to provide your audience (myself and your potential group members) with information that will foster strong working relationships.
Background information to include in your memo:
What is your major and year in school?
Why have you selected this major?
What activities, jobs, and internships have you participated in that relate to your chosen field?
What are your career plans after graduation?
How would you describe your work style?
What technologies are you familiar with and which ones do you still want to learn (even if those technologies are not related to our course)?
Course goals to include in your memo:
What are some of your rationales for taking this course?
What background or experience do you have that will help you work on projects for this course?
What types of writing and research projects have you participated in?
What is your main goal for this course? (You need to go beyond “I want an A in this course.”)
Do not use a Word template for the memo header; you should create your own. The body of the memo should address the above questions, as well as provide any other information that you deem relevant to your audience.
