In the end, one of the big questions of The Good Place is about what happens after our time on earth is over. Assuming we should be judged at all, the system has decided that it is what we do on Earth that matters, not our potential for improvement. The main characters contend that potential for improvement, as demonstrated in the original neighborhood, should be considered.

Can we accept this if the purpose of ethics is to live a good life? Should even the most unethical individuals be allowed to spend eternity improving themselves until they can enter The Good Place? How might some of our main ethical theories tackle this question? Compare at least two of the theories to answer this question. Use examples from the last 3 seasons of the show to make your argument.

The mystery of what happens after we die is a major driver of ethical considerations. Whether one believes in a supernatural afterlife, ethics in and of itself, or just cares about how one will be remembered, the fear and wonder of death often drives some of our behavior. When Michael, an immortal being, contemplates what is a normal aspect of life for humans he is stricken with an existential crisis. What do you think about the relationship between ethics and death? Is there any relationship? If there is no afterlife, what makes us live ethically? In answering this question, use examples from the show to support your answer.

Even though this topic had to go here to make the last 2 weeks have an even workload, I highly recommend seeing the finale before answering it.
