Format: 3000-word report (plus 10% allowance).
Task
Effectively managing change is a key issue for organisation in the new millennium.
Your task is to take the role of a Change Management Consultant to provide an in-depth analysis in the form of a report to an organisation of your choice (you may choose your own organisation) for them to be able to deal effectively with the future changes in your sector.
Your report should include:
A discussion of the key future success factors for your industry/sector.
An assessment of your organisations’ current positioning for these success factors.
A strategy for addressing areas where development/improvement is required for your organisation to meet these future success factors.
Practical change steps for your organisation to move forward in each of the areas identified.
Any other issues you consider to be relevant.
Support your analysis throughout with reference to relevant literature, theories, and/or case studies on managing organisational change.
Requirements
The required word length for this assessment is 3000 words (plus 10% allowance).
In terms of structure, presentation and style, you are normally required to use:
AIB standard report format
AIB preferred Microsoft Word settings
author-date style referencing (which includes in-text citations plus a reference list).
These requirements are detailed in the AIB Style Guide.
A minimum of eight contemporary academic references are required. You may also use current industry reports and media articles to support your statements, however, these will NOT count toward the minimum required references.
All references must be from credible sources such as books, industry-related journals, magazines, company documents and recent academic articles.
Your grade will be adversely affected if your assignment contains no/poor citations and/or reference list and if your assignment word length is beyond the allowed tolerance level (see Assessment Policy available on AIB website).
Grading criteria and feedback
Your assessment will be marked according to the following grading criteria:
Criterion 1: Explanation of context, scope and purpose (20%)
Criterion 2: Demonstrated understanding of relevant theories and concepts through appropriate application (35%)
Criterion 3: Depth of reasoning as demonstrated through analysis, logically developed, supporting argument, and critical evaluation (35%)
Criterion 4: Citing and referencing, including paraphrasing (5%)
Criterion 5: Structure, presentation, communication style and language (5%).
